My consulting experience includes 50,000 + employee companies and replacing wireless routers in the homes of clients and virtually every size in-between. I Prefer working in a situation where I can have a direct positive impact, in action-oriented situations. I take pride in sharing my skills in situations where I can directly benefit my clients. I also enjoy working with families, I have a strong belief in the power of the family and that using technology in a way that helps families better their lives.

I am eager to learn new things and even if it's a technology or product that I have little experience with, I work to learn it in a safe way so that I can support that product or technology. I have an extensive lab at my home that I can use to extensively test a new technology and learn the thing I need to know to support that technology as an expert. I have on multiple occasions built an entire environment to replicate a customers system to allow me to diagnose and resolve issues without affecting production-facing systems.

Security and Compliance

I have spent my career ensuring that the correct people have the correct access to the correct assets. I believe that this responsibility lies with everyone, from a CEO, to a developer, an HR representative, or a parent. My responsibility in this realm is to ensure that proper access is enforced from a technical as well as an administrative point of view. We also need to ensure our claim that access levels match our promised levels by testing, logging, and auditing.Our customers rely on the whole organization to secure the information that they entrust to us and we should not betray that trust.

Networking and Web Development

Networking has always been central to my career. I have a degree in telecommunications and spent many years working for a cable ISP, providing availabilty of voice, video and data networks that spanned the whole United States. This experience has shaped me into someone who values availability and understands the need to design and operate in a way that maintains the highest levels possible. I Have designed and implemented enterprise wireless and wired ethernet networks for businesses and homes. I also do my own design for a number of websites, using the latest techniques to ensure an attractive, responsive design.

Server and Storage

Throughout my career having a breadth of knowledge of applications that are used in a world with ever-changing technology. I keep myself educated and aware of emerging technology as well as ensuring I have a depth of knowledge on the most commonly used hardware and software in the server and storage realm. I have designed geo-redundant backup and disaster recovery plans at the enterprise and small business level. I treat critical data the same way I would treat the most important digital assets I have, making sure they are safe, protected and managed in a way to not make recovery an administrative burden on the data owners.

Virtualization and Cloud Computing

I have been using virtualized computing for my whole career, both at the personal and professional level. I believe through virtualization we can make the most efficient use of our computing resources while providing a scalable, redundant and secure environment. This extends to the proper use of cloud-based technologies to improve the customer experience and take advantage of the benefits of cloud-based compute, storage and networking. Cloud computing comes with unique challenges from a security standpoint, but the technology exists to implement cloud infrastructure in a secure manner.
